CORVALLIS, Ore. – No. 21-ranked Lewis-Clark State women's cross country has been named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Team of the Week after a dominant performance in its season opener at the Lewis & Clark XC Opener in Portland.
The Warriors claimed the top three individual spots and placed four runners inside the top 10 to capture the team title in the 5-kilometer race.
Damaris Kibiwot, Kelsey Plymale and Aubree Williams battled together throughout the race, finishing less than 12 seconds apart. Kibiwot ultimately claimed the individual victory in 18:09.8, followed by Plymale in second at 18:12.0 and Williams in third at 18:21.1.
Eva Lundgren rounded out LC State's top four with a 10th-place finish in 19:07.3, giving the Warriors four runners among the top 10. Leila Flannery followed in 12th at 19:11.3, while Hannah Berdan and Zion Boyd placed 14th and 15th, respectively, in their collegiate debuts.
LC State's depth was also on display, with the next five Warriors across the finish line recording personal-best times.
The impressive season-opening performance gives the No. 21 Warriors early momentum heading into the 2026 campaign, with the team looking to build on its strong front-running group and close the gap among its remaining scoring runners.
LC State returns to action Sept. 18 at the NNU Invitational in Nampa, Idaho.
