Mickie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Seattle Pacific University. She taught PE and coached track and field in middle school for several years before starting her career as a Registrar at Concordia University where she served for 18 years. It was there that she became involved in collegiate sports, working on athletic eligibility certification and advising student athletes. Mickie became the Eligibility Chair for the Cascade Conference while Registrar at Concordia University. In 2004, she became Associate Registrar at Oregon Health & Science University and retired fall of 2020. Fortunately, because of her love of collegiate sports and working with student athletes, coaches and athletic directors, she will continued to serve as Eligibility Chair for the Cascade Conference, as well as Eligibility Chair for the Frontier Conference. Mickie is married to Martin Bush and they have three children and seven grandkids.
