Oregon Tech’s Tara Moates has been named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
 
Moates, a sophomore from Klamath Falls, Ore., had the best week in her career leading the Owls to 6-0 record. Moates had 18-RBI, 6-homers, 2-doubles, and scored 10 runs. She hit .700 for the week and brought her season average up to .500.
 
Her combined 3-homers in doubleheader against NU helped OIT set a new school record and tie a conference record for home runs in a game at 5. OIT also set a new school record for homers in a doubleheader with 8.
