Southern Oregon’s Jared Hixon has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
 
Hixon, a senior from Palmdale, Calif., topped the 1,500-meter invitational field in 3:51.24 – the top time in the Cascade Conference by over three seconds seconds, the No. 2 time on the NAIA list, an 'A' mark and a tenth of a second off his career best.
 
Hixon - who placed fourth in the 1,500 at the 2014 NAIA Championships but redshirted last season - became the first Raider this season with a qualifying mark in the event, and he also has a provisional qualifying mark in the 5K.
