Oregon Tech’s Joel Yellow Owl has been named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Yellow Owl, a senior from Zillah, Wash., set a career high with 45 points against Simpson University and became the first OIT player to score 40 or more points in a game since NAIA 1st Team All-American Ryan Fiegi had 41 point against former CCC member Concordia University on January 5, 2008.
 
Yellow Owl is also the first OIT player to score 45 points in a game since Nate Pyatt scored 45 for the Owls against Alaska Fairbanks December 28, 1990. His 45 points in a single game also puts him 9th all-time in the Cascade Conference.
