Beltz, a sophomore long-jumper from Elmira, Ore., became SOU's first automatic qualifier for the NAIA Championships on the men's side by jumping 23 feet 10 1/4 inches Saturday at Sacramento State's Hornet Invitational. The mark, which was the second-best of his career, gave him fifth place of 55 entries. He also hit a CCC qualifying mark in the triple jump (42-11 3/4).
