Haynie finished with 7,112 points, a new EOU school record, winning the decathlon at the CCC Multi-Event Championships. He became the first Eastern athlete to total 7,000 points in the decathlon, and only the second at the conference championships.

The meet record is held by Southern Oregon's Ross Kennedy who totaled 7,355 points in 1997. Haynie now has the top mark in the NAIA, passing the current high of 6,715 held by Westmont's Andy Thompkins.
