Northwest Christian’s Michael Loomis has been named the Red Lion men’s basketball Player of the Week.

Loomis, a senior forward from West Linn, Ore., had quite the take over this weekend with both games, lifting the Beacons on his back as they swept back-to-back games against NAIA Top-25 opponents. Loomis averaged 32.5 points and 19 rebounds while shooting 52% from the field. Additionally, he posted the first 30/20 game in NCU history in the overtime victory against Oregon Tech with a regulation tying three-pointer while already scoring 32 points and 21 rebounds. His 36 points matched an NCU high since joining the NAIA in 2006 and sets a new Beacon record for points in a Cascade Conference game.
