Concordia’s Arne Niermann has been selected as the Red Lion Player of the Week for Men's Soccer-Defense for the week Sept. 24-30.


Niermann, a freshman from Lippstadt, Germany, posted back-to-back shutouts this week in goal for the Cavaliers. Niermann opened the week with a two-save shutout against Evergreen State, who was previously undefeated in the CCC, and returned, with three saves against cross-town rival Warner Pacific on Saturday. With the results, Niermann extended CU's shutout streak to four straight matches and 374 minutes.
