Men’s Outdoor - Track
Eastern Oregon’s Matthew Kirkendall has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.
Kirkendall, a senior from Menifee, Calif., broke the program record, for the second-straight week, in the men’s 110-meter hurdles after besting the previous record held since 1962, at the Cougar Open. Kirkendall improved the record from 14.38 seconds down to 14.25 seconds, which is the fourth best time in the NAIA this season and an automatic qualifying mark to nationals. He also took second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.25 seconds, a “B” standard mark to nationals and fourth best in EOU history.
