Over the week, Higginbotham delivered one of the gutsiest performances the conference has seen throughout the entire 2018-19 season. It was the senior guard’s first game back in three weeks after taking leave to spend time with her mother, who passed away from her battle with cancer just eight days prior to Tuesday’s game against Northwest. Despite not practicing for those three weeks, Higginbotham stepped on the court and produced an incredible effort, scoring 20 points and racking up seven rebounds to lead the Geoducks’ upset bid. Evergreen would eventually fall short in the contest, but Higginbotham’s return serves as one of the most outstanding performances the CCC has seen this season.
