Brownell, a senior hailing from Cove, Ore., opened the 2019 outdoor season by winning the 1500 meters at the Pacific Preview, topping a field of mostly NCAA Division III opponents. Her time of 4:46.73 is the best in the conference, and stands as the only CCC qualifying time thus far. In addition, Brownell’s time currently ranks third in the NAIA.
