Lumb, a junior out of Vancouver, B.C., blew away the field in the men's 1500 meters at the UBC Open meet. He finished the race in 3:45.86, just over 11 seconds better than the next-closest competitor. It puts him as the No. 1-ranked 1500-meter runner in the NAIA, nearly six seconds ahead of the second-rated athlete. His time also surpassed the NAIA 'A' standard in the event.
