Top-ranked British Columbia’s Kate Johnston was named the Red Lion Women’s Golfer of the Week.
 
Johnston, a senior from Ayr, Ontario, Canada, won her second career tournament, taking individual medalist honors at her own school's Gail Moore Intercollegiate event. Johnston shot rounds of 68 and 72 to finish at 4-under-par, six strokes better than her closest competitor. She was the only player in the 38-golfer field to end the tournament in Bellingham, Wash., below par. Johnston's performance also propelled UBC, ranked first in the NAIA, to the team title, as the Thunderbirds won by 19 strokes over Oregon Tech.
