Eastern Oregon University’s Erik Mattice was named the Red Lion Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
 
Mattice, 5-foot-10 junior defender from Folsom, Calif., scored the thrilling game-winner in a 3-2 win over Evergreen on Saturday from the defender position. Taking most of the team's free kicks and corners, Mattice set up for a free kick 35 yards out, with just over two minutes to play in a 2-2 tie. The junior laced the free kick into the top-right corner of the net for the game-winner. He also had two assists on the weekend.
