Multnomah University’s Justin Martin was named the Red Lion Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this year.
The 5-foot-10 senior guard from Spokane, Wash., had an explosive weekend for the Lions. Martin scored 40 points Friday night to help MU beat Corban University 97-93, before breaking the MU, CCC and NAIA Division II scoring record with 74 points the next night. It helped the Lions beat Northwest Christian University 118-111 and put Martin’s points per game average at 57.0 on the week. He shot 31-for-66 (.470-percent), including 17-for-33 (.515-percent from the perimeter).
