College of Idaho’s Kylie Smith was named the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week.
The five-foot-three junior second baseman from Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, went 6-for-12 with a double, triple and nine RBI in the series win at No. 8 Oregon Tech, which included the Yotes’ first-ever run-rule win at OIT and their first road sweep of the Owls since 2009. Smith had a go-ahead sixth inning, three-run double in the third game of the series to help the Yotes to a 6-5 win. She finished the week batting .500 with two runs scored and a .750 slugging percentage.
