Top-ranked SOU’s Hannah Shimek was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Player of the Week.
 
Shimek, a five-foot-10 senior infielder from Bothell, Wash., sparked the Raiders from the top of the lineup with four multi-hit games and six of the team's 26 runs scored in a perfect opening weekend. She doubled twice and also was perfect on two stolen-base attempts to surpass 70 in her career.
