Warner Pacific University’s Arturo Bahena was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week.
Bahena, a six-foot junior forward from Las Vegas, played a part in all three active play goals during WPU's second-half comeback last Sunday to lift the Knights 4-2 over Northwest University – the fourth goal was a PK. He assisted his brother and scored two goals of his own. Bahena weaved his way into the NU backline for a give-and-go from his brother to get a good look on goal and then laid off a beautiful through ball for the game-tying goal. His second goal proved to be the game-winner. In Sunday's game against SOU, Bahena drew the penalty for what would become the game-winning goal.
