No. 7-ranked Lewis-Clark State College’s Matt James was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Baseball Player of the Week.
 
James, a five-foot-11 junior catcher from Bellingham, Wash., had a monster week at the plate with a .667 batting average, 1.467 slugging percentage and .750 on-base percentage. Of his 10 hits, three were doubles and three were home runs. With five walks, James reached base safely in 15 of 20 plate appearances and scored seven runs. He also knocked in six runs.
