Top-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Gabby Sandoval was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Pitcher of the Week, her third honor of the year.
 
Sandoval, a five-foot-three senior pitcher from Anaheim, Calif., moved into the top-five on the NAIA's all-time wins list by improving to 106-17 in her career. She won her 29th and 30th consecutive decisions dating back to 2019 over the weekend, pitching her sixth and seventh shutouts of the year in the process. She now stands at 16-0 with a 1.24 ERA in 2021.
