Top-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Lauren Quirke was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Softball Player of the Week, her first player honor after grabbing two pitcher honors earlier this year.
Quirke, a five-foot-six senior pitcher/third baseman from San Mateo, Calif., totaled four home runs and six extra-base hits on the weekend. She took over the CCC lead in batting average (.515), RBIs (40), hits (53) and total bases (89) in the process. Quirke also made an appearance in the circle for the Raiders, improving to 10-2 with three scoreless innings in Game 2 of the series.
