College of Idaho’s Austin Van Horne was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Baseball Pitcher of the Week.
Van Horne, a six-foot right-handed pitcher from Caldwell, Idaho, made the most of his final appearance at Wolfe Field, tossing seven innings of four-hit ball, allowing just one earned run and striking out a career-high 12 (the most by a C of I pitcher since 2017). He added the walk-off two-run single in the ninth to help C of I to a 4-3 win. Van Horne tied C of I's career record for most overall games started (225).
