Southern Oregon University’s Tez Allen was named the Embrace Health-Santiam Hospital Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.
Allen, a six-foot-five junior guard from Carson City, Nev., had a solid weekend for SOU. He flirted with a triple-double (21 points, nine rebounds, seven assists) and hit the go-ahead trey with a minute and 20 seconds left in Saturday's win over Corban University. The next day, Allen registered his third double-double in four games with 17 points and 12 rebounds. He finished the weekend averaging 19.0 points, 10.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, with a 53.6 field-goal percentage.
