College of Idaho’s Lexi Mitchell was named the WVT Laboratory Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Mitchell, a junior guard from Middleton, Idaho, led the Coyotes to their first 2-0 start since the 2012-13 season. She shot 54.5-percent from the floor, averaging 14.0 points per game. In C of I’s 92-49 win over Pacific Union, Mitchell had 17 points on an 8-for-12 performance. Against Simpson, Mitchell grabbed a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. She also finished with seven assists on the week.
