(RV) Vanguard University’s Ricky Padilla was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Wrestler of the Week.
 
Padilla, a senior 165-pounder from Azusa, Calif., took the bronze in his weight class at the Reno Tournament of Champions. The eighth-ranked wrestler won four of his five bouts overall, including a victory in the opener against No. 7-ranked Rysan Leong of Menlo. Padilla also defeated American's Breon Philfer (8-0) and Oregon State's Graham Gambrall (9-0) before losing by pin to another Beaver, Matt Olguin. In the third-place match, Padilla recovered to take a 5-2 win by decision.
