Eastern Oregon University’s Phillip Malatare was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.
 
Malatare, a junior guard from Arlee, Mont., was a key player in the Mounties’ 2-1 week. He nailed the game-winning shot in overtime over then No. 13 College of Idaho to lift EOU to a 94-91 victory and finished the week averaging 21.0 points per game on 52.3-percent shooting. Malatare went 15-for-18 at the free throw line and had 12 assists, three steals and two blocks over the three games.
