No. 1-ranked Oregon Tech’s Mckenzie Staub was named the WVT Laboratory Softball Pitcher of the Week.
Staub, a sophomore pitcher/infielder from Hillsboro, Ore., had a career performance on Saturday, dealing five complete innings while adding a grand slam. At the plate, Staub went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. In the circle, she went 2-0 against two teams receiving votes in the national poll, allowing only five hits, three runs, with 11 strikeouts and a 1.75 ERA over 12 innings pitched.
