Eastern Oregon University’s Phillip Malatare was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this year.
Malatare, a junior guard from Arelee, Mont., posted a pair of double-doubles to lift EOU to victory in two close games over the weekend. He shot 52.8-percent and averaged 25.0 points per game. Malatare grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds against Multnomah University and finished the week averaging 10.5 boards per game. He shot 4-5 from three-point for the weekend and was 8-9 at the free throw line.
