Eastern Oregon University’s Darrian Walker was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.
 
Walker, a senior from Emmett, Idaho, highlighted the day for EOU in its first outdoor meet of 2022. He not only won the pole vault, but hit an NAIA "A" qualifying standard to punch his ticket to Nationals, clearing the bar at a height of 15-9 ¼ for the win. Walker’s mark was well ahead of second by over a foot and is now the top mark in the NAIA following the weekend and ranks fifth all-time in EOU history for the outdoor season.
