No. 9-ranked Southern Oregon University’s Riley Donovan was named the WVT Laboratory Softball Player of the Week for the second time this year.
Donovan, a senior catcher from Half Moon Bay, Calif., shot to No. 1 in the NAIA in both home runs (12) and RBIs (63) over the weekend. She tied SOU's single-season home run record on Friday against Warner Pacific University and on that same day, registered 10 RBIs – becoming the first Raider ever to do so in a single CCC doubleheader. Donovan went 9-for-12 (.625) in the series with 13 RBIs, eight runs scored and four extra-base hits (1.125 slugging percentage).
