Lewis-Clark State College’s Clayton VanDyke was named the WVT Laboratory Men’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this year.
VanDyke, a senior from Vernal, Utah, repeated as the CCC champion in the 1500-meter and 800-meter races. He surpassed Olympian Sam Atkin for the LC record in the 1500m with a time of 3:45.71, currently the second-best time in the NAIA. In the 800m, VanDyke ran a time of 1:51.36 to capture the crown. He also ran a leg of the school-record setting 4x400m relay that finished second to give him three all-conference honors over the weekend.
