College of Idaho’s Chayla Slavin was named the Rize Laboratory Volleyball Defender of the Week.
 
Slavin, a sophomore middle blocker from Boise, Idaho, recorded 1.50 blocks per set as College of Idaho went 2-1 last week with its lone loss a four-set decision to No. 1 Eastern Oregon University. She had five block solos and 13 block assists in the three matches. Slavin had seven blocks (three solos and four block assists) in a win over Walla Walla University and recorded two block solos and four block assists against EOU.
