Concordia’s Kate Santos has been chosen the Red Lion Softball Player of the Week for March 18-24.
 
Santos, a sophomore from Gladstone, Ore., hit .467 with 6 home runs in 6 games last week for the Cavaliers. The sophomore catcher led the team in RBI (9) and runs scored (7) while leading the team to a perfect 6-0 record. In a 1-0 win against Northwest, Santos hit a solo homer in the sixth for the winning score. She returned with 2 HRs, both of which put the Cavs back into the lead, in the second game against the Eagles.
 
In the next series, Santos provided both CU runs in a 2-0 win over College of Idaho with a 2-run homer in the fifth and finally, in the opening game against Eastern Oregon, Santos hit back-to-back homers in the third and fourth innings in an 8-0 victory. The big week moves Santos into No. 2 on the NAIA home run list with 14 round-trippers on the year. a
