Southern Oregon’s Summer Cano has been named the Red Lion Women’s Cross Country Runner of the week.
 
Cano, a junior from Hillsboro, Ore., placed 18th in Palo Alto at the Stanford Invitational, a best among non-NCAA Division I runners, beating out entrants from the likes Simon Fraser and Chico State, which are ranked Nos. 6 and 7 in NCAA Division II. Cano was 1 minute, 7 seconds faster than any of her teammates, leading the Raiders to a fourth-place finish among non-DI schools.
