Eastern Oregon’s Damian Flores has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Track Athlete of the week.
Flores, a senior from Gardena, Calif., hit two NAIA "A" standards and helped set a school record at the Jackon's Invitational. On Friday night, Flores finished second in the 3,000 meter run, with a time of 8:34.25, which was 6 seconds faster than the "A" standard. In the 3,000 meter run, Flores was the fastest collegiate athlete as he only finished behind Unattached runner Greg Montgomery. Saturday, in the Mile Flores hit the "A" standard and finished seventh with a time of 4:16.63. To round out the Weekend for Flores, he ran the second leg of the 4x400 mete relay and helped set a school record and finish third only behind two NCAA Division I schools.
