Eastern Oregon’s Travis Simpson has been named the Red Lion Men’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week.
Simpson, a junior from Redmond, Ore., had a very successful first meet of the 2014 season. He finished second in High Jump, at a height of 2.0 meters (6-6.75), which is the fifth highest at EOU. He only finished behind NCAA Division I Roderick Townsend of Boise State, who cleared 2.10 meters. Simpson also finished fourth in the Long Jump by jumping 6.83 meters (22-5), which is third best at EOU. Simpson moved into second place on the EOU All-Time list in the triple jump with a jump of 13.69 meters (44-11).
