Concordia’s Nate Moses has been named the Red Lion Men’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week.

Moses, a senior from Fresno, Calif., uncorked a school record 200-0 (60.97m), in his specialty last week, a mark that battered his former career best which helped the California native to qualify for the 2012 US Olympic Trials. Not only is the mark the best in the NAIA, but the 2012 NAIA national champion in the discuss, currently holds the early lead for all collegiate athletes as Jason Harrell of Long Beach State of NCAA DI Long Beach State has the next best effort at 191-9 (58.56). In further comparison, at a distance of 210-0, the American leader in the event last season, according to USATF, Lance Brooks was only 10 feet farther than Moses’ 2014 opener.
