Women’s Basketball

Concordia’s Sierra Dean has been named the Red Lion Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Dean, a freshman guard from Tacoma, Wash., helped CU post three wins last week, including wins over top-25 ranked SOU and OIT. Dean reached double figures in scoring on all three nights, including a 24-point outing against No.13 SOU on Friday.

At 7-1, CU is already one win shy of its total from last season while its 2-0 start in the CCC is halfway to its 4-14 record in conference play from a year ago.

Honorable mention: Tara Van Weerdhuizen, CRB
