CALDWELL, Idaho - Breaking a school record and tying another in the process, The College of Idaho women’s soccer team capped off their home schedule with a convincing 3-0 victory over Eastern Oregon this afternoon at Simplot Stadium.

The Lady Yotes (11-2, 6-1 CCC) recorded their ninth shutout victory of the season – one more than their school record of eight set last year, while the three goals scored pushed their season total to 39 – tying the mark set in 2002.

Taylor Culver got the Coyotes on the board in the 16th minute as her free kick from 30-yards out went through the hands of Mountaineers (4-7, 4-3) keeper Allison Seymour to make it 1-0. Four minutes later, the Yotes pushed the lead to 2-0, as Chelsea Heffner placed a nice cross, finding the foot of Jessica Ayala.

It didn’t take long for the Lady Yotes to crack the scoreboard in the second half, as Erika Mouritsen touched home a rebound of a Mandy Greif shot just 19 seconds into the new period to cap the scoring.

EOU had a couple nice opportunities in the first half, including a point-blank Kami Hernandez shot midway through the first half off a corner kick, but Kelly Hardegree-Ullman made the save – one of five saves by C of I keepers in the victory.

Today marked the final regular season home match for four C of I seniors – Greif, Jessica Moon, Lauren Winterholler, and Sadie Hughes.

The Lady Yotes return to action next weekend, starting Friday at No. 5 ranked Concordia, then closing the regular season Saturday at Warner Pacific.
