BUTTE, Mont. -- The Eastern Oregon University men's basketball team defeated Montana State-Northern Friday night, 64-57.

After falling victim to a double-digit rally Thursday, the Mountaineers came back from an 11-point halftime deficit to win the opening game of the Copper Cage Classic hosted by Montana Tech.

Jacques Wilson led three EOU double digit scorers with 15 points. Thomas McCarthy and Jordan Gregg each had 10 points.

Eastern shot 58 percent from the field in the second half to help the rally. EOU finished 53 percent from the field. The Mountaineers were 3 for 6 from behind the perimeter.

The Lights started shooting 58 percent from the field in the first half, but were held to 35 percent in the second. MSUN was 57 percent from behind the arc in the first, but 27 percent in the second half.

Andrew Sellars led all scorers with 17 points for Northern. Clay Greenland added 16, and Eric Tispy had 10.

Eastern Oregon improves to 4-2 this season, and Northern falls to 2-3. The Mountaineers will play the host, Montana Tech, Saturday at 5 p.m.
