Craig McGee recorded his 23rd career double-double vs. Evergreen
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Craig McGee scored a game-high 21 points and The College of Idaho held the NAIA's leading scorer Nathan Menefee to just six points, as the Coyotes knocked off The Evergreen State College, 72-53, inside the College Recreation Center Gymnasium.
The Coyotes (3-4, 1-1 CCC) held Evergreen to just 30-percent shooting from the floor, with Menefee, who came into the game averaging 30 points a night, to 2-of-13 shooting, including an 0-for-6 night from outside the arc.
The C of I trailed only once in the game at 2-0, but scored the next nine points kept the pressure on the rest of the way, leading by as many as 24 in the second half.
McGee added 11 rebounds in the victory, his 23rd double-double of his career. Kelvin Potts had 12 points with Noah Gottlieb adding ten in the win, while no other Evergreen player scored in double-figures - as Ben Wilson and Tyrell Dixon led the Geoducks with eight points each.
The Yotes return to action with an exhibition game on Tuesday night, meeting Northwest Nazarene in the second half of the United Heritage Tip-Off Series in Nampa at 7:05 p.m.
