Nicole Gall scored 12 straight points to lead Lady Yotes to win
OLYMPIA, Wash. - Nicole Gall scored 12-straight points early in the second half, helping The College of Idaho defeat The Evergreen State College, 70-57, inside the College Recreation Center Gymnasium.
With the win, the C of I (5-3, 2-0 CCC) sits alone atop the Cascade Conference standings – a half-game up on idle Northwest Christian, as the remaining unbeaten teams all lost (No. 12 ranked Southern Oregon lost at home to Warner Pacific, Oregon Tech lost at home to No. 19 Concordia, and Eastern Oregon lost in double overtime at Northwest).
Gall, who went 0-for-5 in the first half, knocked down five-straight field goals, including two three-pointers, part of a 14-2 run to open the period, as the Lady Yotes built a 45-32 lead.
The Coyotes led by as many as 18 in the second half - forcing 24 Geoduck (2-7, 0-2) turnovers on the night, while committing a season-low eight miscues.
Katie Strunk led the Coyotes with 15 points, with Gall and Nicole Bruce each scoring 12. Evergreen was led by Latrina Woods with 13 points, with Brittany Weaver adding 11.
The Lady Yotes return to action next Friday, meeting Whitworth at 5 p.m. (PT)
