Eagles Down Warner Pacific
PORTLAND, Ore. – Northwest University defeated Warner Pacific 3-1 in women’s soccer action today at David Douglas High School, moving the Eagles to 3-1 in Cascade Conference play.
Kelsey Frasier scored 2 goals for NU, including the first of the game at the 22:23 mark thanks to a nice crossing pass from Yanet Candido. Kristie Perron added what proved to be the game winner in the 43rd minute with a headed ball past Knight keeper Nikita Rivera.
WP responded just 30 seconds later off the foot of Brittany Johnson, who looped in a well placed shot from 25 yards just before halftime.
Frasier tallied the insurance goal for NU in the 55th minute of the second period, and the Eagle defense held firm the rest of the way.
With the loss, the Knights fall to 0-5 in CCC action and 1-9-2 overall.
Northwest will face NAIA #1 ranked Concordia tomorrow - 6pm at Delta Park, while Warner Pacific hosts Evergreen State at 3pm.
