BOX SCORE

PORTLAND, Ore. –
Four Concordia players scored goals as the Cavaliers defeated the visiting Corban Warriors 5-0 in a Cascade Collegiate Conference soccer match played in the wind and rain Saturday at Delta Park.

With the win, Concordia improves its record to 9-2-0 overall and 6-1-0 in conference play. Corban falls to 4-6-1 and 3-4-0 in the CCC.

Jared Brace (Vancouver, Wash./Columbia River H.S.) scored the first goal for the Cavaliers in the fourth minute of play as the defense broke down near the goal and he took a pass from Mirza Ramic (Banja Luka, Bosnia/Prairie H.S.) about eight yards in front of the goal. It was Brace’s third goal of the season for the Cavs.

Ramic scored the next goal for Concordia, taking a touch pass from Facundo Dipascuale (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Lakeridge H.S.) in the middle for a 12-yarder in the 20th minute, his third goal of the season.
Dipascuale got on the board in the 38th minute to give the Cavs a 3-0 lead at halftime. From the right side of the goal, Dipascuale rebounded a deflected shot from Septi Danciu (Bristita, Romania/Evergreen H.S.) into the right side of the goal for his team-leading sixth goal of the year.

A physical game got rougher as the second half began to wind down. In the 84th minute of the contest, a pair of Corban players earned yellow cards and Concordia’s Jordan Green (Portland, Ore./Grant H.S.) received a red card ejection. The two teams combined for 35 fouls in the match, 17 for Corban and 18 for Concordia.

Playing one man down in the last few minutes, the Cavaliers scored their final goal when Zack Madison (Bend, Ore./Mountain View H.S.) sent a cross from the far right side in front of the goal for Graham Humphries (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor H.S.) to score from 12-yards out. Humphries’ first goal of the season bounced off the crossbar and into the net to make it 5-0 for the Cavaliers. Their fourth goal came in the 81st on an own-goal play by Corban.

Corban’s James Myrvold finished the contest with nine saves as the Cavaliers outshot the Warriors 21-5. Claudio Lazar (Ploiesti, Romania/Bellevue C.C.) played the majority of the contest for Concordia before Cole Dahle (Wilsonville, Ore./Wilsonville H.S.) took over in the 68th minute.

Concordia’s next contest will be on the road at Northwest Christian in a match scheduled for 3 p.m. on Oct. 15. Corban returns to the field Oct. 15 at 7 p.m., when the Warriors visit Oregon Tech.
