Senior Nash Keene tied for the team lead in points with 13, as Corban returned to its winning ways with a convincing win over visiting Multnomah.

SALEM, Ore. – Senior Nash Keene (Aumsville, Ore.) and junior Erik Cronrath (Battle Ground, Wash.) scored 13 points each, as Corban's men's basketball team returned to its winning ways with a convincing 77-49 victory over Multnomah Thursday inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
All 12 available players scored at least two points for the Warriors, including 29 combined points from Corban's bench. Senior Ian Logan (Aloha, Ore.) was a perfect 3-for-3 from the floor en route to tallying 11 points, while freshman Jordan Carter (Salem, Ore.) had the best all-around game for the Warriors with six points, a game-high seven rebounds, and a game-high tying five assists.
Corban came out of the gates firing from all areas and scored on its first four shots that included a pair of three-pointers by Logan along with a long distance shot and a lay-in by Keene within the opening two minutes. Trailing by eight points (11-8), Multnomah was forced to burn an early timeout before the host Warriors used an 18-7 run over a span of 11 minutes to grab a 19-point cushion (29-10) thanks to a jumper in the paint by sophomore Jacob Kopra (Gresham, Ore.) with 6:56 left on the clock. Corban would have to settle for a 16-point halftime advantage (34-18), as Multnomah ended the half on an 8-5 run that concluded with an Erik Mendoza three-pointer in the final minute.
Coming out of the locker room, Corban quickly extended its lead to 20 points (38-18) as Cronrath and Keene each scored on fast break lay-ups. The host Warriors would push their lead to 30 points with 3:16 remaining, as junior Drew Ross (Cashmere, Wash.) became the final Corban player to score with a jumper on the wing from 12 feet out that made the score 73-42 in favor of the home team. With the game in hand, the Warriors traded buckets with the visiting Lions until the final horn sounded and Corban had a 28-point win (77-49).
Multnomah was led by Jacob Fischer, who tallied a game-high 15 points to go along with Gian Cook's 10-point performance. On the boards, Steven Bustrin grabbed a team-high six rebounds and handed out a game-high tying five assists for the Lions.
As a team, Corban shot 30-for-54 (55.6%) from the field that included a scorching 18-for-27 (66.7%) over the final twenty minutes. The Warriors would also turn in a 9-for-22 (40.9%) performance from beyond the three-point line and a 8-for-10 (80.0%) showing from the free throw line. On the other hand, Multnomah was a combined 13-for-51 (25.5%) from the field, 9-for-30 (30.0%) from long distance, and 14-for-17 (82.4%) at the charity stripe.
With tonight's result, Corban improves to 8-4 overall and Multnomah drops to 5-8 on the season. The Warriors will be back in action tomorrow night – Friday, December 17th – against NCAA Division III and Northwest Conference member Pacific beginning at 7:30 p.m. inside the C.E. Jeffers Sports Center.
