PORTLAND, Ore. – Warner Pacific scored 55 points in the first half en route to a 93-69 Cascade Collegiate Conference men’s basketball victory over Concordia Friday night at Cavalier Gymnasium.

The loss drops Concordia’s record to 4-8 overall, 0-3 in conference play. Warner Pacific improves to 7-5 overall, 1-2 in the CCC.

Warner Pacific owned a size advantage over Concordia, and the Knights took used their advantage in taking a 16-point 55-39 halftime lead. Concordia slowed Warner Pacific a bit in the second half, but the Cavaliers struggled to find the basket as they tried to work their way back from a double-digit deficit.

Concordia shot 34.4 percent from the field (11-of-32) in the second half and finished the game with a 38.5 overall shooting mark from the floor. Four CU players reached double-figures in the scoring column, but all were overshadowed by Warner Pacific’s Biniam Tadele and Traevone Bowie, who tallied 21 and 20 points.

Dustin Hiebert led the Cavaliers with 18 points, while Drew Preuninger connected on 5-of-9 attempts from beyond the three-point line to tally 15 for the hosts. Adam Herman scored 12 and grabbed seven rebounds, and Austin Dunn added 11 points and team-high six assists.

Webster Moreland scored 17 points for Warner Pacific and 6-10 senior Andre Davis added 14 while patrolling the paint for the Knights.

Concordia returns to action on Sunday, when the Cavalier host Thompson Rivers in a non-conference game scheduled for 4 p.m. at Cavalier Gymnasium.
