CALDWELL, Idaho - Steve Peres scored a game-high 20 points as The College of Idaho ended a six-game losing streak against Warner Pacific with a 78-67 victory inside the J.A. Albertson Activities Center.

The Coyotes (6-10, 3-2 CCC) trailed just once in the game, as Peres canned a trey on C of I’s opening possession to give the hosts a 3-2 lead. The hosts then used a quick 9-2 run to grab a 16-7 lead, extending the margin to 42-27 at the break on a Tyler Young triple at the horn – as the Yotes hit 56-percent of their field goal attempts in the opening 20 minutes.

The lead would extend to 72-53 with five minutes left on a Peres lay-up, but the Knights (8-6, 1-3) would use a 9-0 run to get within ten – but no closer, falling to The C of I for the first time since a 101-95 decision during the 2006-07 season.

Young had 14 of his season-high 16 points in the first half, while Duncan Koga was a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, scoring a career-high 13 points. The Yotes won despite leading scorer Matt Ballenger being held to six points due to foul trouble.

Webster Moreland led WP with 18 points and nine rebounds, but the Knights were 5-of-24 from outside the arc and committed 21 turnovers in the loss. Nick Schultens scored all 13 of his points in the second half for the Knights.

The Coyotes return to action tomorrow night, closing out the 2010 portion of the schedule by hosting Concordia at 5:30 p.m.
