PORTLAND, Ore. - Pacific University converted a penalty kick in the closing moments of the game to defeat Warner Pacific 4-3 in men's soccer action tonight at David Douglas HS.

The Knights (0-2) opened the scoring with a nifty free kick shot from Tyber Parsons just 6:30 into the game. Pacific (1-0) equalized just moments later thanks to Neal Avery who went on to score twice more to give the visitors a 3-1 lead midway through the second period.

WP's Tarik Subasic tapped in a penalty try after a Boxer handball in the box, and then tied the game at 3-3 in the 71st minute with a point blank finish after a failed clearance by the Boxer defense. Ovetime seemed inevitable until another handball in the box, this time by a Knight defender gave Pacific a penalty try. Kizamu Tsutakawa turned the gift into a game winner at the 82:55 mark.

Warner Pacific had 16 shots to the Boxer's 12, while Pacific led the corner kick category 5-4.
WPC will next take the field versus Simon Fraser on September the 8th at David Douglas HS. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
