KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – Megan Christensen came away with a match-high 13 kills, in just 19 attempts, to help the Oregon Tech volleyball team to a sweep over Northwest Christian University (27-25, 25-19, 25-21) tonight at Danny Miles Court.

Oregon Tech pushed their overall mark to 10-10 and 2-5 in the Cascade Conference standings. NCU drops to 4-9 on the season and 1-6 in conference play.

The Beacons jumped out to an 11-6 lead before Tech’s Katelyn Louden answered with a kill, and when Kristen Walters would hold serve for the next seven points, the Owls were up 14-11.

The teams traded points until the Owls held a 23-21 lead. NCU answered with three in a row to take it to set point, but the Owls battled back to take a 25-24 lead. NCU tied it at 25-25, but once again Tech came away with back-to-back points and eventually win set 1, 27-25.

In set 2 the visitors took their only lead at 2-1. The Owls then gained a 15-9 advantage, their largest lead of the set, before the Beacons would battle back to trail by only one point, 15-14. Three in a row by Tech would gain back the momentum, as the Owls would move on for a 25-19 win.

After a 13-13 tie in set 3, Tech would put together five straight points to take an 18-13 lead. The Beacons rallied to pull it to 23-21, but that was as close as it would get, as kills from Mindy Rencher and Mikayla Morgan would end the match at 25-21 and give the Owls a much needed conference win.
